After a decade in business, our team is taking time to look back on where we started and everything we have achieved in this time.
Our founder, Marika, knew from a young age that she wanted a career in accounting, which then morphed into a love for making business decisions based on numbers and data.
Having worked within a local accounting and tax practice for over five years, Marika was ready for a new challenge. She was keen to make a difference and take charge in helping people make smarter business decisions.
And so it goes, Valorium Advisors was founded in 2014.
Valorium Advisors was founded by Marika Lynch. Marika had a passion for helping businesses achieve their goals through considered business decisions and knew that this was the next step for her.
Heidi Tolar joined our team as an Accountant in July. Heidi was the second member of our team and continues to work with us now, 10 years later.
Heidi & Marika began building the business with more clients and a range of service offerings.
We hit 100 clients, an exciting milestone for a new business. Little did we know how far we would come!
Started using Xero and officially became Xero Partners. We saw the potential of the software early on, and we are so glad that we did!
Valorium Advisors became Xero Silver Partners, meaning we were becoming experts in the evolving software.
Marika and Heidi attended our first Xerocon in Melbourne and were blown away by the scale of the event. We learnt how impactful and significant Xero was becoming in our industry.
Marika and Heidi went to Xerocon again, this time in Brisbane where the theme was work-life balance. Mark Manson gave an inspiring speech about finding happiness through adjusting your focus.
Natalie Collison started as our Practice Manager. Natalie has brought extensive management experience to our team. Her strategic insight has allowed us to continue growth within the business and positioned our team for sustained success.
We introduced a new website and held our very first photoshoot to get some fresh content.
We navigated our way through the first lock down – think working from home, video meetings and lots of homemade coffees.
Kylie Cutro started as an Assistant Accountant in August.
Marika featured in a Hunter Headline podcast.
We were finalists in the Professional Services category for the Local Business Awards.
We relocated to our new office in Toronto, NSW where the business continues to grow.
Natalie and Marika attended the Gen Collective International Women’s Day Luncheon event at Merewether Surfhouse where we heard from Jodie Fox, the co-founder of online shoe company, Shoes of Prey.
We became Xero Gold Partners, highlighting our expertise in the software.
We attended Xerocon ‘22 in Sydney as a team. The event focused on the importance of working together, the future of the ATO, and how accountants can help solve problems and deliver benefits through digitisation.
We were finalists in the Excellence by a Micro Business at the Hunter Business Awards and in the Professional Services category for the Local Business Awards.
Marika was appointed Director to Ronald McDonald House Charities Northern NSW Board
Marika, Kylie, and Natalie attended the Bean Counters Ball in support of underprivileged youth and their education.
The team attended Xerocon ‘23 in Sydney which focused on collaboration using the software, with a theme of smarter, faster, stronger together. We discovered new connection capabilities with Xero app partners, presenting new possibilities for our clients.

We are looking forward to celebrating our success so far, and planning for continued growth as we look towards the next decade in business.
In the last decade, we have seen some major growth across our team, clients, and services we offer. We now have a tight-knit team of four who are passionate about helping businesses achieve success.
Our client base has grown to over 300 and the services we provide to them has increased to include a wide range of tailored business accounting solutions.
